Azure Storage

Microsoft Azure Cloud Storage Microsoft’s answer to their cloud competitor Amazon is finally here. Microsoft has a wide range of storage solutions, providing SaaS (software as a service), PaaS (platform as a service ) and IaaS (infrastructure as a service). Azure supports a great variety of programming languages, tools, and frameworks, ranging from Microsoft-specific to Linux, or other third-party software and systems.

In the table below we’ll look at the Hot Access Tier, as this is the most commonly used storage tier for online usage.

OVH Object Storage

OVH has been around in the cloud hosting world for a very long time. In the 20 years they’ve been in the hosting industry, they have certainly earned their stripes.

OVH’s public cloud storage offering is quite literally a hosted version of Openstack Swift in the past, they’re putting more effort into creating a better value-add, with slick documentation and to-the-point FAQ.

A big advantage for European companies is that OVH’s Object Storage is completely GDPR compliant.

Clients of OVH’s storage product are not disclosed, making privacy sort of a feature.
